How to create 3D text with metallic shine in photoshop
3D text with metallic shine can be created in photoshop very easily. In one of my earlier post “how to 3D text in photoshop” I have written about 3D text in photoshop. But this time I’ll show you how to create 3D text with metallic shine in photoshop.
To create anything with metallic shine, the basic thing which needs to be kept in mind is that, the metallic shines don’t have any specific color in it. It just reflects the light just like a mirror.
So, to make the texts look shiny like a metallic surface, you have to make it colorless but at the same time, you have to give it such an effect which will make it look shiny. For me, the black and white gradient overlay effect seems to be perfect.
To create 3D texts with metallic shine follow the below mentioned steps,
1) Open a new blank white background document. First of all create a beautiful background which will complement with the 3D text. To create it, select a dark color. I have selected dark blue. With paint bucket tool color the whole image with this color. With soft round brush of bigger size(450px, say) make a click at the middle. This will make the middle of the image slightly white. The image should look something like this. Background
2) Now make a new text layer and pickup some beautiful text and write the word “METAL”. Select a higher font size. Apply the below shown effects to the text layer.
