Almost all of us know what is bribery. Clearly, it is a type of corruption. Although it is a type of
corruption, it is practiced so widely that we can put it in a separate set of civil crime.
We all know what is bribery because most often we have experienced it directly or indirectly.

decision making position, expecting in return, to turn the decision making system or individual decisions in such a way which will benefit individual or individual organisation. Bribery influences the decision making. It can turn the decision to benefit specific individuals rather than the common population. Bribe takes the form of demand at times. The thing which should be done by default, needs sometimes bribing to get done.
E.g. a contractor may offer cash to govt official to manipulate the contractual bids so that the contractor can get the contract. Offer of cash to govt officials to expedite the official procedure so that the job is done early. A biker may offer cash to traffic polices so that he is not caught for his violation of traffic rule. These are just small examples of bribery which we come across in our everyday life.
Most often we observe many dimensions of bribery in our society.
People at higher level are offered a bribe to turn the decision making in such a way which will be beneficial for individual or individual organization. Most often it is observed that people at that level need not to demand any bribe. They are offered without any demand.
People working in the government offices and holding lower grades such as clerical posts etc. cannot form a part in the decision making. They often demand bribe from common man visiting their table for various jobs.
Bribery in recruitment in jobs is another dimension. Job is considered as a permanent and regular source of income. The persons in the recruiting committee can take bribe to offer the job to a less deserving candidate.
what is bribery in organised form ?
Apart from job, the education which can ascertain the job availability is being considered as a one way and traffic free road to a good job. Professional educations such as engineering, medical, Chartered accountancy, MBA etc. comes in this category. In a way, the psychology which facilitates bribery in recruitment for jobs can also facilitate bribery in education. The huge amount of donation demanded by engineering and medical schools in private sectors may also be considered as an organized bribery.
